To the giant's garden
These two rocks mark the entrance to Sten (Stone) the giant's peculiar garden. He lives here, inside the mountain Stenshuvud, in a cave called Giddastuan.
Folk legend says that if passing-by seafarers happen to look into this entrance their ships go under.
(Others might say the locals once upon a time lured ships to crash into the rocks by putting up false beacon lights)
Once when the giant's wife was to give birth a midwife from St. Olof, a close by village, was called in. After the baby was born the midwife was sent home with her apron filled with dry leaves as pay for her work, come next morning they had all transformed into gold coins....Sten must be a pretty nice giant after all.
