with the bad hoof who came up to say hello after trimming last summer. The farmer wanted her re-checked before setting her out on pasture again. Her hoof was healthy this time, just a part that hadn't fully grown out yet. That was good news, she had a pretty bad hoof last summer...they are incredible at healing. Farmer said he has two brushes out on pasture for the cows, lucky cows.
So I trimmed a lame cow awhile back, turned out it was the cows that walk in the pasture with the brush in the tree. Today I was down there to shoot bales on the hills, farmer was there checking the fence, he showed me the cow we trimmed. It was the one looking here, later she came up and sniffed my hand. Strangely enough she was the only cow that got that close, I wonder if she remembered me from the trimming? Farmer said the father of some of these Belted Galloways is a pure Belted Galloway so these calves are a mix of a little of each. The cow here shaking her head with the big horns had a Highland Cattle for father. Darn nice herd and a darn nice place for them to walk.
to sweet talk little Loiusa.
